File Conversion Options

Our various file converters have several options that can be configured prior to a file being uploaded for conversion. Here we list the currently available options for the different conversion tools.

Video Conversion Options

For video file conversion, we can two options used to configure the generated video quality:

Resolution

Video resolution can be specified from 240p up to 4k.

  • 3840 x 2160 (4k)
  • 2560 x 1440 (1440p)
  • 1920 x 1080 (1080p)
  • 1280 x 720 (720p)
  • 854 x 480 (480p)
  • 640 x 480 (VGA)
  • 640 x 360 (360p)
  • 426 x 240 (240p)
  • 320 x 240 (CGA)

Audio Bitrate

The quality (Bitrate) of the audio in the generated video file can be configured between 64-320KB/s.

  • 320KB/s
  • 256KB/s
  • 224KB/s
  • 192KB/s
  • 160KB/s
  • 128KB/s
  • 112KB/s
  • 96KB/s
  • 80KB/s
  • 64KB/s

Audio Conversion Options

For audio file conversion, we have a single option to control the generated files quality:

Bitrate

The quality (Bitrate) of the audio can be configured between 64-320KB/s.

  • 320KB/s
  • 256KB/s
  • 224KB/s
  • 192KB/s
  • 160KB/s
  • 128KB/s
  • 112KB/s
  • 96KB/s
  • 80KB/s
  • 64KB/s

Image to 3D Model Options

When converting a 2D image file such as a PNG to a 3D model such as OBJ, the following options can be set to control how the 3D model is generated:

Tool

The Tool setting controls the algorithm used to generate the 3D model. Our tool can generate a Heightmap or use the image as a basis to create an Extruded model.

  • Heightmap
  • Extrude

Width (mm)

The width of the final 3D model in millimeters.

Height (mm)

The height of the final 3D model in millimeters.

Depth (mm)

This field controls the maximum surface height in millimeters in the generated 3D model. When using Extrude mode, this will be the extrude depth.

Add Base (mm)

If a non-zero value is set in this field, our tool will generate a solid square base under the 3D model whose depth will be the value in this field in millimeters.

Detail

This option controls the quality/detail level to be used in the 3D model. The default setting Medium works well with most images.

  • Low
  • Medium
  • High

Transparency Conversion

The image to 3D model tool requires that all colors within the image not contain any transparency. This option allows you to specify how a transparent background should be converted to.

  • Black
  • White

Preserve Aspect Ratio

Use this option to ensure the final 3D model uses the same proportions as the original image file.

Invert Model

This option can be used to reverse all geometry surface depths.

Mirror on Z

With this option set the 3D model generated will be mirrored along the Z-axis.

Image Conversion Options

For Image to Image conversions we have several options to control the final image generated by our tool.

Resize Width (px)

If a width is specified (in pixels), the image will be resized accordingly. In order to maintain the aspect ratio use the Preserve Aspect Ratio option.

Resize Height (px)

If a height is specified (in pixels), the image will be resized accordingly. In order to maintain the aspect ratio use the Preserve Aspect Ratio option.

Preserve Aspect Ratio

When the image is resized the aspect ratio of the original image file is maintained.

Rotate

Rotates the final image by the specified number of degrees.

  • None
  • 90
  • 180
  • 270

Flip

This option can be used to flip the image vertically.

Mirror

This option can be used to mirror the image horizontally.

Greyscale

This option will apply a greyscale filter to the final image.

Negative

This option will apply a negative color filter to the final image.

Image to Vector Options

When converting an image file to a vector graphices format file we have the following options to control the behaviour of the tool during the conversion:

Mode

To help the tool create the best results, you can specify the type of image being uploaded and our tool will select the best options when converting the image.

  • Auto
  • Icon
  • Color Logo
  • Photo

Hole Reduction

With certain images, the tool may generate holes in the vector paths when there are small groupings of similar pixel colors. This option can be used to alter the hole detection threshold for the tool to eliminate these holes.

  • Auto
  • Low
  • None

CAD to 3D Model Options

When converting a CAD file such as a DXF to a 3D model format you can specify:

Extrude (mm)

This value is used to control the level of extrusion applied to the final 3D model. The value is in millimeters.

3D Model Conversion Options

When converting a 3D model file to another 3D format we have the following option available:

Create Voxel 3D Model

If this setting is enabled our tool will apply a general voxelizer algorithm to your source 3D model.
