The PNG graphics file format is a commonly used format for storing 2D images which can be highly compressed by the use a palette if the image has a sufficiently low number of colors (256 colors in general). The PNG file is then further compressed using the DEFLATE compression algorithm to ensure small file sizes that are fast to download.
PNG files are seen as the logical successor to the GIF image file format and was devised in the mid-1990's as a superior format to GIF. PNG files are generally used for company logos, icons and other non-photographic image content. Saving a digital photo in the PNG format will create a much larger file than an equivalent JPG image hence the PNG format being unsuitable for most digital photo content.
Extension | GLB |

Type | 3D Model |
Mime Type | model/gltf-binary |
Format | Binary |
Opens With | Blender, MeshLab |
The GLB file format which can also have the GLTF file extension depending on whether the content is binary or text/Json is a 3D file format used to describe 3D worlds and as such contains geometric data such as vertices, faces, normals, animations and other 3D scene related data.
The format, described by its creators as the "JPEG of 3D", has gained in popularity and is supported by a wide range of 3D modelling applications such as Blender and MeshLab. The GLB format is an open standard which is maintained by the Khronos Group.
Our PNG converter will convert your PNG file to a 3D model using the Heightmap process whereby 2D pixels, based on their luminosity, are converted into 3D space to create a full 3D GLB model ready for download for further processing in your favourite 3D editing package or for printing on a 3D printer.
First click the "Upload..." button, select your PNG file to upload. Your PNG file will be uploaded to our servers. When the PNG to GLB conversion has completed, you can download your GLB file straight away.
We aim to process all PNG to GLB conversions as quickly as possible, this usually takes around 5 seconds however this can be longer for certain files, so please be patient.
We aim to provide the best conversion experience. Our tools are under constant review and development with new features being added every week.
Our tool uses a Heightmap process whereby the GLB 3D model is created based on the luminosity of the individual pixels in you PNG image.
Yes, to ensure our tool converts the PNG image quickly and with a reasonable final file size, your tool will resize any image larger than 600x600 pixels.
