Free Online VTP to SKP Converter

You can use our VTP to SKP conversion tool to quickly and easily convert your 3D model files for free. You may upload up to 20 files at one time, and our batch VTP to SKP converter will process each 3D model and present you with a download link for each file once completed.

Or drag and drop your files here to upload.
A maximum of 20 files can be uploaded at once.

Please note: Your VTP file, once uploaded to our server, will be deleted 15 minutes after upload, so please download your converted VTP file before this time.

Our 3D model VTP to SKP tool will load your VTP file and, where supported, attempt to extract all the relevant 3D features, such as geometry, textures, and animations. To access the 3D conversion configuration options, click the button when you have selected your files. The current options support the ability to voxelize your 3D model and more.

How accurate is the VTP to SKP conversion?

We aim to provide the best conversion experience. Our tools are under constant review and development, with new features being added every week.

How does converting VTP to SKP work?

In order to successfully convert an VTP formatted file to the SKP format, our converter tools will perform several initial checks to ensure the file provided is indeed an VTP file. There are many files out there where the file type extension does not match the data contained within the file. Along with these file type checks, our tools will do additional checks to ensure the file is correctly formatted to match the provided file type. There are many tools out there that do not always create VTP files to the exact specification.

Take your VTP file

The VTP file format is a text-based format, meaning its contents are human-readable, making VTP files easy to edit in simple text editors. Within this text-based format are the core elements that make up the 3D model, including vertices, faces, and more. To ensure efficient conversions, our tool will check all data that is contained within the VTP file and remove any information that is duplicated. This not only ensures the conversion completes more quickly, but also the generated SKP file size is smaller.

Convert the data from VTP to SKP

Now that the data from the VTP file has been processed, our tool can apply any conversion specified options, such as enabling Voxel mode, and with these applied, prepare the data to be converted to the final SKP file format. Part of this process ensures checking the capabilities of the SKP format and removing any data that cannot be represented.

Save to the SKP format

At this point, the VTP to SKP conversion tool will have the 3D model in a state that is ready to be transferred to the SKP format. Our tool creates the SKP file, ensuring all the model data is present and is formatted to match the SKP file specification to ensure the file opens in compatible SKP file editors.

The VTP file format is the successor to the older VTK format. Updated to store data in a structured XML format rather than the bespoke plain text structure of the VTK format. The same 3D elements that could be stored within a VTK file can be transferred to the VTP format.

As VTP files are based on plain text XML, binary 3D model data can be encoded using the Base64 encoding method, which allows binary data to exist within plain text structures such as XML. This binary model data consists of common 3D geometric elements such as vertices, faces, and surface material information.

The VTP format also allows 3D model data to be stored in a compressed format prior to the Base64 encoding process to help reduce the overall file size. VTP files can be imported into several 3D editing applications, and we have a set of VTP conversion tools to convert these files to other popular 3D formats, such as STL.

VTP Converter Capabilities

Our VTP 3D Model/Mesh tool does not support any color material data contained within VTP files, so the converted file will not contain any color information.

A SKP file is the native file format for the popular SketchUp 3D modeling application. SketchUp is a growing platform, popular with industrial architechs and 3D design enthusiasts alike who like the ease with which complex 3D models can be produced.

The SKP format is capable of storing complex 3D models and their associated geometric data, such as vertices, edges, faces, materials, and much more. The format is well supported, and it receives updates containing new features on a regular basis.

Due to its popularity, the SKP format is supported by many 3D modeling applications via an import option, and where an import option may be missing, our own SKP conversion tools can convert to and from the most popular 3D formats.

SKP Converter Capabilities

Our 3D conversion tool does not support color or material information in SKP files, so your file will not contain any color information.

Information for converting from VTP to SKP

Your VTP file will be converted to a SKP file using our unified 3D model and mesh conversion tool. Our VTP 3D tool performs accurate conversions of 3D elements such as vertices, faces, normals, and relevant material information. Our tool will not attempt to transfer any color information if it is present in your VTP file; your final 3D model will contain only geometry data.
