A WMV file is a video storage format that Microsoft developed for use with their Windows line of operating systems. The format is designed to allow high-definition video quality while maintaining a small file size by using some clever compression techniques.
Also known as Windows Media Video files, WMV files became somewhat of a standard format for video files due to the popularity of Microsoft's operating systems. With built-in support for WMV playback also appearing on other platforms.
WMV files, although still popular and supported by a wide range of video editing applications and video players, have largely been replaced by other, more capable formats, such as MP4.

The AVI video file format is a general-purpose multimedia format for housing video and audio data. Created by Microsoft in the early 1990s, the format has, over the years, garnered widespread support; however, with more modern and capable formats such as MP4, AVI is now considered a legacy format, with support for it on the decline.
The format allows the storage of both audio and video tracks using a variety of different codes. This allowance for different codes means that some AVI files would not play on devices that did not have the correct codec software installed.
Despite AVI files being superseded by more efficient formats that offer improved codecs and other features, many video editing and playback software can open and play AVI files.
Our WMV and AVI will attempt to convert these video format files with little or no loss in quality. You can upload video files up to 100MB in size; however, with large WMV files, please allow time for converting to a AVI.
