The 3DM file format is a 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) format primarily used by the Rhinoceros CAD software. It enables the storage of both simple and complex 3D models within a standard package and has found many uses within the architectural, engineering, and manufacturing arenas.
The format allows the storage of 3D model geometric data, including mesh and texture coordinate data. This 3D data is stored in the NURBS format, allowing complex objects to be represented with high precision.
Although primarily designed for use with the Rhinoceros CAD software, 3DM files enjoy support amongst other CAD software, with many supporting the import and export of data to the format.

GLB files are the binary equivalent of the GLTF 3D file format developed and maintained by the Khronos Group. GLB files are designed to be an open and expandable 3D format that can store 3D graphics and their assets, such as textures, animations, and more.
The content of a GLB file is binary and enables highly efficient storage and transmission of 3D data. This efficiency of size, along with its ability to store all the associated assets in the same file, has made GLB files one of the preferred formats for use within 3D web content and other applications.
Due to their open format, GLB files are widely supported by 3D editing software. The format has gained traction amongst videogame developers and other 3D artists as a primary means of exchanging 3D data between different applications.
