This is our fast and free file converter, specializing in converting your X-Plane OBJ 3D model files. You can convert your X-Plane OBJ files to a number of different formats, whether that be another 3D model format or an image. Our X-Plane OBJ converter can handle the most popular formats. Our X-Plane OBJ converter can also batch process up to 20 files at a time.
Or drag and drop your files here to upload.
A maximum of 20 files can be uploaded at once.
To start, please click the button above and select the 3D model X-Plane OBJ files you wish to convert. Once you have selected these, you can specify what you would like each file to be converted to. This could be another 3D model format, or another format from our extensive list. Once the target formats have been set, you can apply any configurations (such as applying the built-in voxelizer) by clicking the button.
Here are 3 simple steps to convert your X-Plane file using our fast and free X-Plane file converter tool.
Yes! Our X-Plane conversion tools are 100% free to use.
No, you can convert as many files as you wish. We do not impose any conversion limits on our X-Plane conversion tools.
We aim to process all X-Plane conversions as quickly as possible; this usually takes around 5 seconds; however, this can be longer for certain files and significantly longer for some larger file formats, so please be patient.
Once your X-Plane file has been uploaded and we know the file format you wish to convert it to, our bespoke conversion software will convert your X-Plane and make it available for you to download with a unique download URL.
Yes, of course it is! Your X-Plane, once converted, is deleted 1 hour after upload, and the download link will expire after this time.
Yes! Our X-Plane conversion tools will run on any system with a modern web browser.
If you are having difficulty converting your X-Plane, you can contact us, and we will try to help where possible.

Not to be confused with the Wavefront OBJ format, the OBJ8 format is a separate format used in conjunction with the X-Plane 3D simulator software as a means of transferring data between X-Plane and other 3D modelling applications and tools.
The OBJ8 format, as it is known, uses the OBJ file extension and stores 3D model data represented by a list of vertices, triangles, and lines. Other data is included in the format, such as lighting, texture information, and other related data.
OBJ8 files are text-based, with each vertex stored on a single line within the file. The vertex includes its X, Y, and Z position, normal, and texture coordinates. Following the vertices is a list of face indices, which, in the case of a 3D model, represent the triangles that make up the model.
X-Plane Converter Capabilities
Our X-Plane converter can both convert from and to OBJ files, and our developers are working to improve our OBJ conversion tools in future versions. Our X-Plane 3D Model/Mesh tool does not support any colour material data contained within OBJ files, so the converted file will not contain any colour information.
